This is an Indian remake of the Hollywood hit, Romeo and Juliet. The film stars Imran Khan as Romeo and Avantika Joshi as Juliet. The film was released on 3 December 2011 and received positive reviews from critics. This movie revolves around a pair of young lovers, who belong to different castes but share the same heart; the star-crossed romance between two families who come together in love and hate; and also a famous story told by Shakespeare. Pankhuri (Avantika Joshi), an unmarried woman, falls in love with Imran Khan's character, Jithesh. Her family disapproves of the relationship though it is forbidden for an unmarried girl to love anyone. Pankhuri's father is a middle-class businessman who works hard to provide free education to his daughters. So, her family does not accept Jithesh as her lover because he comes from a lower class. Samantha is a country singer who has had a lot of successes in her career but she has never achieved international fame. She is on tour with her band when she meets the handsome Udayan Reddy (Imran Khan). Though he had also had some successes in his career but he never achieved this kind of fame.
